Braves Open Up Weekend with Pair Of Wins

Opening Weekend Kicked off on a good note for the High Park Junior Baseball Club. The Braves picked up a win Friday night and Saturday night.

 

Game 1 Friday Night vs. East York (5-0 W)

Opening night saw the Braves string together 6 hits and score 5 runs behind Kevin MacDonald (4.0 IP). The offence was lead by Matt Voight (3-4) and Gabe Nakoncheny (2-3). The Bullpen was rock solid with clean innings by Luke Bellus (1.0 IP 1H) and Alex Tabascio (1.0 IP 1H) both of whom made there High Park Junior Baseball Club Debuts. Closer Kevin Hillsdon came on in the Seventh Inning and picked up his first SV closing the game out.

 

Game 2 Saturday Night vs. Oshawa (8-5W)

The home opener saw the Braves fall behind 5-0 after the first 3 innings. David Pham got the nod in the game and went 3.0 IP and was pulled for the bullpen, ultimately to take the ND. The offence was led behind multiple hit nights from Chris Nolfi, Austin O’Boyle, Julian Nolfi, Mike Ceccehetto and the midget call up for the evening Taka Ryan who broke the game open in the 5th with a 2 RBI Triple off the Left Field Wall to jump start the offence. The Bullpen was solid with season debuts by Evan Ross (2.0 IP) who was the pitcher of record for his first career Junior Win, Greg hall (1.0 IP 1H) and Kevin Hillsdon came on to record the final 3 outs and pick up SV #2.
