High Park tops Newmarket in 3-2 nail-biter

Christian Pandoff and Andrew Raponi went toe-to-toe for 5 innings of 1-run ball. The game was never out of reach for either team. In the bottom of the 5th, a base hit to left had Chris Nolfi making a mad dash to the plate in an attempt to tie the game. He was thrown out but this wouldn’t be the last chance High Park would get. Greg Hall came in to record a scoreless 6th inning and then High Park fired back… A charge led by Michael Checchetto’s clutch 2 RBI knock put the home team on top.

Another run would come around to score before Hall was tasked with closing it out in the 7th. He handled the first batter with ease and then allowed a solo home run which would force Coach MacDonald’s hand. Kevin Hillsdon came in to record his first save of the season securing the 3-2 High Park win over the Newmarket Hawks.

NOTE: Pandoff allowed his first run of the season last night. It took 14 innings for a team to break him. He is also the first pitcher for High Park to start back to back games this year.
