Nolfi extends hit streak in High Park loss

High Park recorded 10 hits on the night but still fell short to the Oshawa Legionaires 6-1. Oshawa starter Alec Brown threw a complete game going 9 innings, giving up 10 hits, 3 walks and striking out just one.

In the 9th inning, Michael Checchetto launched a double to the wall but that would inevitably be the last jolt in the High Park offence.

AJ Padmore went 5 and a third innings allowing 1 earned run on just 3 hits, striking out 3. Christian Pandoff came on in relief logging 2 and two thirds innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and striking out 3.

High Park offensive contributors included Jake Linhares who went 2 for 4. Linhares had a couple clutch singles and many key blocks in the game. Lucas DaSilva was 2 for 3 with a walk. He also made a great backhand play late in the game to take a base hit away from Oshawa’s shortstop.

NOTES: Chris Nolfi recorded another hit in last night’s contest. He has reached base in every game this year acquiring a  .432 average. Linhares ups his batting average from .333 to .364 with the two hits he recorded.
