Procopio’s bomb not enough in 6-2 loss to East York

A.J. Padmore lasted just 4 innings against East York on Wednesday. The left-hander cruised through the first three innings of work before running into some trouble in the fourth. A few doubles from the heart of East York’s lineup launched them out ahead and High Park wouldn’t make up the difference.

Chris Procopio continued his hot start to the year improving his batting average to .500 with some timely hits including a solo shot in the 6th. Dennis Dei Banning broke out going 2 for 3 including a long out that easily would have been extra bases. Kevin Hillsdon came on to record a scoreless two innings adding two strikeouts to the season totals.

This was just game 1 of the ‘6 games in 6 days’ stint for High Park.

NOTE: Despite the short outing, Padmore picked up 6 more strikeouts. This makes it 15 total after just 8 innings (2 starts) of work. Friday’s starter, Alex Tabascio will pitch for the first time since May 13 where he picked up the win against Scarborough.

UP NEXT: Friday, June 2nd, 2017 @7:30 p.m. EDT vs. Ajax @ Talbot Park
